Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf marks a historic milestone 50 years since our journey began in April 1977. Our founders had a bold vision: "To create a national organization where Deaf gay and lesbian individuals could come together, connect, and celebrate together." That's when RAD was born!
We have come a long way, and today, we proudly welcome you to the 30th Biennial Conference! A moment that unites our past, present, and future under the theme:
"RAD Then. Now. Forever."
RAD Then:
Since 1977, Deaf Gay Pioneers paved the way, establishing a space for LGBTQIA+ conference and organizing annual gatherings later evolving into biennial conferences.
RAD Now:
Since 2019, RAD embraced new opportunities, welcoming a wave of new Deaf LGBTQIA+ voices, faces, and leaders and many of whom had not been recognized before.
RAD Forever:
Looking ahead, RAD will continue to stand as the only national Deaf LGBTQIA+ membership-based nonprofit organization all around across the globe and inspiring future generations for years to come.
